What are we waiting for?
Some have said that, according to Mayan calendar, the 2012 is the year that the world will come to an end.
Although people have been claiming this occurrence for years, even centuries, the events throughout the world in the past years fairly validates this claim, as the escalating incidents around the world might justifiably resemble an apocalypse.
Although like the creatures of habit, people are used to interpret everything literally, I believe Mayans have meant much profound, perhaps much potent implication to this event describing a devastation.
As known to the Mayans, it is a law of nature that after devastations, there comes a renewal, regeneration and rebirth. (more…)

It is a miserable sight to those who read about this beautiful ancient country of Azerbaijan to be subjected to an appalling and uninvited sight in the cyber postings of the youth over Facebook and Twitter that rave about the arrested youth, fraudulent elections or biased national media.
Instead of focusing on important subjects, these so called cyber activists are forced to employ all there time to rant about ridiculous themes like freedom of assembly, freedom of speech, freedom of the press or freedom to practice one’s religion.
Let’s face it, who really needs these alleged fundamental rights? Will they provide food for the hungry or shelter for the poor? (more…)

Harking back to Armenia in 1915 will only drive modern Turkey into China’s arms
The best thing said about the Armenian tragedy was a sermon delivered in the main church in Constantinople in 1894, more than 20 years before it happened. Patriarch Ashikyan had this to say: “We have lived with the Turks for a thousand years, have greatly flourished, are nowhere in this empire in a majority of the population. If the nationalists go on like this [they had started a terrorist campaign] they will ruin the nation.”
That Patriarch was quite right, and the nationalists shot him (and many other notables who were saying the same thing). (more…)

Təbii ki, bu cür olimpiya oyunları, eyni zamanda müxtəlif ölkələrin özlərini dünya ictimaiyyətinə yaxından tanıtmasına, prestij qazanmasına təkan verən mühüm faktorlardan biridir.
2010 Qış Olimpiya Oyunlarında Qafqazın ən inkişaf etmiş ölkəsi Azərbaycan iki, regionun ən geridə qalmış ölkəsi Ermənistan isə 4 idmançıyla təmsil olunur.
Bundan daha diqqət çəkəni isə Ermənistanın milli, Azərbaycanın isə qeyri-milli idmançılarla təmsil olunmasıdır. (more…)
