The world chooses who gets the “damaged image” and who doesn’t.
For centuries the west committed atrocities and continued wars across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas, murdering thousands of innocents and got out without a drop of responsibility and “damage to their image.”
But when a crazy man flies into a building (keep in mind for his own political and radical agendas) he stigmatizes the whole religious faith. And when one man gets extradited and freed for an act committed as a result of a direct provocation, it creates an unbelievable upheaval in the political arena around the world. (more…)

Who are we?
As people, as citizens of a country what are we? How can we define ourselves? Each time I raise the question I am not able to come up with a definite answer.
I realize if I can’t define us, how am I able to describe us to others. Well, I can describe events in our long history, attributes of our versatile culture and multifaceted society.
But does that really define who we are? Perhaps in reality we are not anything. The problem is that constantly we are defined by somebody else. It has been a common occurrence for centuries to our people to be defined by anyone but ourselves.
Defining us, telling us who we are.
We are Muslims, we are communists, we are Asiatics, we are Europeans, we are… (more…)

It is a miserable sight to those who read about this beautiful ancient country of Azerbaijan to be subjected to an appalling and uninvited sight in the cyber postings of the youth over Facebook and Twitter that rave about the arrested youth, fraudulent elections or biased national media.
Instead of focusing on important subjects, these so called cyber activists are forced to employ all there time to rant about ridiculous themes like freedom of assembly, freedom of speech, freedom of the press or freedom to practice one’s religion.
Let’s face it, who really needs these alleged fundamental rights? Will they provide food for the hungry or shelter for the poor? (more…)

Who is Next?
The Arab world is undergoing a remarkable winter uprising.
Unlike, the social revolutions of yesteryear, which were framed in the context of radical ideologies against a socio-economic elite, the revolts in the Arab street lack a clear ideological foundation and are spontaneous uprisings against the excesses of the state, lack of good governance, rule of law and accountability.
The common denominator between Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen, Algeria and Jordan is the inability of their regimes to promulgate real meaningful political and economic reforms. (more…)

Harking back to Armenia in 1915 will only drive modern Turkey into China’s arms
The best thing said about the Armenian tragedy was a sermon delivered in the main church in Constantinople in 1894, more than 20 years before it happened. Patriarch Ashikyan had this to say: “We have lived with the Turks for a thousand years, have greatly flourished, are nowhere in this empire in a majority of the population. If the nationalists go on like this [they had started a terrorist campaign] they will ruin the nation.”
That Patriarch was quite right, and the nationalists shot him (and many other notables who were saying the same thing). (more…)
Does God Exist?
The existence of God is too evident to need any arguments.
Some saintly scholars have stated that God Himself is more manifest than any other being, but those who lack insight cannot see Him. Others have said that He is concealed from direct perception because of His Self-manifestation’s intensity.
However, the great influence of positivism and materialism on science humanity makes it necessary to discuss such arguments. This way of thinking reduces existence to what can be directly perceived and thereby blinds itself to the invisible dimensions of existence, which are far more vast than the visible. Since we must strive to remove the veil drawn by materialism and positivism, we will review briefly some of the traditional demonstrations for God’s necessary existence. (more…)

As a young man, Abraham Lincoln went to war a captain and returned a private. Afterwards, he was a failure as a businessman. As a lawyer in Springfield, he was too impractical and temperamental to be a success.
He turned to politics and was defeated in his first try for the legislature, again defeated in his first attempt to be nominated for congress, defeated in his application to be commissioner of the General Land Office, defeated in the senatorial election of 1854, defeated in his efforts for the vice-presidency in 1856, and defeated in the senatorial election of 1858.
